LH Camera – Trusted Subsea Video Solutions for Aquaculture and Maritime Industries

For over 15 years, LH Camera has been a reliable supplier of high-quality subsea video equipment for the aquaculture industry — both for offshore and land-based fish farming, as well as live fish transport aboard wellboats. Our products are built to withstand harsh underwater environments, ensuring dependable performance for continuous monitoring and documentation.

We have extensive experience delivering advanced underwater video systems, LED lights, and custom-built heavy-duty umbilical cables to some of the leading companies in aquaculture cleaning robotics and ship hull cleaning technologies. Our solutions include steerable HD IP and SD underwater cameras, as well as specially designed miniature fixed-focus cameras with built-in LED lighting for close-up inspections and recordings.

LH Camera also serves as a trusted development partner for OEM projects, offering tailored solutions for subsea applications and aquaculture equipment manufacturers. We provide specialized camera systems for installation on wellboats, enabling real-time video monitoring of live fish during transport.

In the global shipping industry, clean hulls are vital for maximizing fuel efficiency, maintaining optimal speed, and ensuring vessel performance. Marine fouling such as barnacles and algae increases drag, resulting in higher fuel costs and reduced speed. Autonomous hull cleaning robots are now revolutionizing this task — making it safer, faster, and more economical.

LH Camera plays a key role in this transformation. Our compact, high-resolution subsea cameras are integrated into robotic hull cleaning systems, delivering clear underwater visuals for precision inspections — even in low-visibility conditions and hard-to-reach areas. Whether it’s aquaculture or maritime operations, LH Camera provides innovative and robust imaging solutions designed for professional use.

The installation includes Pan/Tilt Dome Camera with Integrated Depth Sensor, 4xLED lighting, and a rugged umbilical cable system – designed to ensure clear, real-time video transmission during underwater cleaning operations.

This setup allows operators to monitor and control cleaning tasks with precision, even in low-visibility conditions, ensuring optimal fish farm hygiene and reduced manual intervention. The collaboration highlights LH Camera’s continued role in delivering durable and intelligent imaging solutions for the aquaculture industry.

Aquaculture Vessels, Wellboats and Test Tank Installation

As demand grows for advanced aquaculture vessels, wellboats are becoming increasingly sophisticated, requiring robust and reliable underwater monitoring systems. When a series of newly built wellboats were commissioned at a leading Turkish shipyard, LH Camera was selected to supply a complete subsea video and network cabling solution.

The project required large-scale production of subsea network infrastructure, including:

  • Molded rubber subsea connectors designed for long-term underwater deployment
  • Custom-made network cables built to withstand high humidity, saltwater exposure, and vessel movement
  • Multiple IP camera systems, purpose-built for integration on live fish handling vessels

LH Camera delivered a full suite of underwater video equipment, including:

  • Subsea PTZ IP cameras for remote navigation and wide-area surveillance
  • Fixed-focus subsea IP cameras for continuous monitoring of critical tank and net areas
  • Integrated LED-light cameras, combining high-resolution imaging with built-in illumination for low-light environments

Flumen Tank Nordsøen Forskerpark (North Sea Science Park)

The Flume Tank at Nordsøen Forskerpark in Hirtshals is a unique facility used for testing and developing fishing and aquaculture gear. With increasing demand for remote access and digital monitoring, the center set out to upgrade its video and imaging capabilities to offer real-time, high-quality visuals—both above and below the waterline.

Challenge

The flume tank environment presents several technical challenges:

  • High water turbulence
  • Need for high zoom and precision control
  • Reliable operation in subsea conditions
  • Integration with remote access systems for customer control

Nordsøen Forskerpark wanted a system that would allow customers to follow tests remotely, control cameras in real time, and get full 360° visibility of their equipment under test.

Solution by LH Camera

In close collaboration with the team at the flume tank, LH Camera delivered and installed a complete camera solution, including:

  • Multiple underwater cameras built for harsh, low-visibility environments
  • Strategic placement of external overview cameras
  • Integration with a remote-control interface, enabling users to pan, tilt, zoom, and switch viewpoints
  • Optimized wiring and housing to handle water, vibration, and temperature variations
