Subsea Multiplexer (Mux)

A subsea multiplexer is a device that enables the connection of multiple cameras, both analog and IP, to a single transmission system. This allows for the simultaneous transmission of video footage from multiple cameras, enabling the operator to monitor a wider area or multiple points of interest.

The subsea multiplexer is designed for use in underwater environments and is typically constructed from materials that are resistant to corrosion and pressure. It is also equipped with connectors and cables that are suitable for use in wet or damp environments.

In addition to supporting the connection of multiple cameras, the subsea multiplexer may also have the option for connecting a PTZ dome camera. These cameras, which stands for pan, tilt, and zoom, allow for remote control of the camera’s movement and focus, enabling the operator to easily and accurately capture footage from a specific area or follow a moving target.

Overall, the subsea multiplexer is a versatile and essential tool for anyone looking to monitor underwater environments using multiple cameras. It allows for the simultaneous transmission of video footage from multiple cameras and the option to connect a PTZ dome camera for added flexibility and control.

Multiplexer (MUX)

Our subsea multiplexer is design to connect and transmit data from multiple cameras, sensors and to control lights and lasers underwater. These cameras can be either IP (Internet Protocol) cameras, AHD cameras or analog cameras, which is transmitted as digital video data over a network, through one crinkle cable. The multiplexer allows for the transmission of multiple streams of video data from these cameras simultaneously, allowing for the simultaneous monitoring of multiple locations or angles underwater.

The multiplexers surface unit is available in two forms: a rack unit or a portable unit mounted in a Peli case. The rack unit is designed to be installed in a standard 19-inch rack, while the portable unit is designed for easy transportation and can be used for more flexible tasks. The portable unit may also be equipped with a video screen, allowing for on-site monitoring of the video feeds or even record the video it on a internal harddrive

Both the rack unit and the portable unit are designed to withstand the harsh conditions of the offshore environment and are built with durable materials to ensure reliable operation. They are also equipped with subsea connectors and interfaces to support the connection of multiple cameras and lights, as well as the transmission of data to and to the surface.

The multiplexer can be configured in various ways:

  • IP cameras
  • AHD cameras
  • Analog cameras
  • PTZ dome cameras
  • Light control
  • Laser control
  • RS232
  • RS485
  • Depth sensor
  • Temperature sensor
  • AUX control
  • Text overlay (OSD) on screen display

Applications:

  • Sediment trap stations
  • Suitable for CCTV monitoring and recording from ROTV (Remotely Operated Towed Vehicle) systems.
  • Drop frames
  • Seabed sled for ghost net searches
  • ROV
